Skinface is a stealth horror game where the player carries out an unusual assassination mission using disguise instead of weapons. The story begins when the player receives instructions to eliminate a person living inside a residential building. Approaching the target directly is impossible because the victim only trusts familiar faces. To solve this problem, the player must construct a disguise by collecting facial features from other residents. This mechanic transforms the mission into a tense investigation where observation and careful movement are essential.
Entering The Residential Complex
The entire game takes place inside a compact apartment building. The location includes hallways, staircases, small apartments, and shared areas where residents move throughout the day. At the beginning, the player does not have access to a disguise and must explore the building carefully.
The residents follow daily routines such as walking between rooms, entering apartments, or standing in common areas. Watching their movement patterns helps the player identify opportunities to act without attracting attention. Because the building is small, every movement must be planned to avoid detection.
Collecting The Parts Of A Disguise
The central mechanic of Skinface revolves around creating a convincing face that will allow the player to approach the target. To do this, the player must collect different facial elements from other characters living in the building.
During gameplay the player may perform actions such as:
· exploring corridors and apartments for potential victims
· isolating residents away from public areas
· collecting facial features needed for the disguise
· assembling the correct combination of face parts
· preparing to approach the target without suspicion
Each step requires patience because acting too quickly can cause other characters to become suspicious.
Approaching The Target
Once the disguise is complete, the player can attempt to approach the mission target. However, the disguise must match someone the target expects to see. If the face appears incorrect or incomplete, the target may refuse to interact or become alarmed.
This creates a final stage of tension where the player must confirm that the disguise is convincing before moving closer to the target. The surrounding residents continue moving through the building, which means the player must still remain careful.
